2021 made LGBTQIA+ history with a record number of anti-LGBTQIA+ laws enacted across the country. In Texas alone, there were over 30 anti-LGBTQIA+ bills filed this session and 13 direct attacks on transgender youth. According to The Trevor Project, 94% of LGBTQIA+ youth reported that recent politics negatively impacted their mental health.

Out Youth remains resilient and bold in our programs, mental healthcare services, and advocacy for the safety and inclusion of all LGBTQIA+ youth as the only organization of its kind in Central Texas focusing on queer youth and young adults. We provide LGBTQIA+ youth and young adults with a safe space for them to be themselves, feel supported, and receive counseling services. Data proves that LGBTQIA+ youth who have access to safe places like Out Youth, who affirm their sexual orientation and gender identity, report lower rates of attempting suicide.
